Initial Consultation
You will have a consultation with our head designer, Kim Eklund. She will take this time to go more in-depth about your project to gather your vision for the space, timeline, budget, and other details. This is usually a phone call or virtual meeting.
Design Proposal
After assessing the scope of design work from our meeting, we will send you a fee proposal and contract. Once you approve the proposal and sign the contract, the real fun begins!
Mood Board Creation
During this design phase, we'll create a dedicated shared Pinterest folder for your project. You can save photos that showcase your unique design style, which helps guide our process. From there, we'll develop a comprehensive mood board with initial material selections for your review. The mood boards will also include simple elevations of your new space with the selected materials.
Vetting Contractors
Once your mood board is finalized, we'll start gathering bids from contractors. We strongly recommend using our list of trusted and skilled tradespeople. This ensures your design will be implemented correctly, meet all code requirements, and help you avoid costly mistakes. Also during this time, we will create the construction documentation needed for the contractor in the form of a binder, as well as loading digital copies of everything in the binder in a dedicated, private Google Drive folder that is shared between the parties involved.
Procurement
Once a contractor / necessary tradespeople are secured and we have a time frame of their availability, we will begin the process of procuring all the materials. We handle all procurement and the tracking of all items ordered.
The Receiving Warehouse
This step doesn't apply to every project, but when needed, our receiving vendor will open, inspect, repackage, and deliver your items. They'll document any damage, notify us immediately, and we'll handle all necessary follow-up steps right away.
The Implementation
We'll schedule your project start date once all materials have arrived and passed our quality checks. We'll notify the contractor and tradespeople about when we can begin, taking into account any remaining lead times.
Walkthroughs
Kim Eklund, the head designer, will conduct on-site walkthroughs during key construction milestones. These visits ensure everything is running smoothly, the design is being executed correctly, and address any questions or concerns. If unforeseen construction limitations arise, Kim will help determine any necessary revisions.
Completion
Once your project is complete, we may schedule professional photography. If your package included furnishing design, we'll transition to that phase of the project at this time.
